As part of this year’s West End Food Festival, the Gordon Neighbourhood House is hosting the Vancouver Food Conversations on Sunday, September 18 at 4pm. The event will include two panels to choose from and a free community meal.
The Migrant Workers Dignity Association has been invited to be part of Panel #1, which will be an opportunity to hear from temporary migrant farm workers about their experiences working on farms in the lower mainland. The presentation will be followed by responses from a few local groups/organizations. This conversation is moderated by Lily Grewal and is supported by the Vancouver Foundation.
Panel #2 is titled Food Waste, focused on some programs aimed at reducing food waste or providing low-cost meal programs take that those items and try to use it.
